What You Need to Know about COVID-19 and Hearing Loss:
Recent research and anecdotal evidence suggest that patients diagnosed with COVID-19 may be at risk of developing hearing loss, tinnitus, or vertigo after onset of infection. We therefore recommend routine hearing tests for any individual diagnosed with COVID-19. In addition, any patient who presents with sudden or new-onset hearing loss, tinnitus, or vertigo, and has had exposure to the virus, should be tested and monitored for worsening symptoms by their healthcare provider.
